Maybe it’s too early to think about bathing suits, especially considering it was snowing here just yesterday and about 0 degrees Celsius this morning, but I’m sure it’s warm somewhere, and in my head, I’m sipping an ice cold lemonade, on a sandy beach in Hawaii.
RubyMoon is swimwear company based in the UK which donates 100% of its profits to micro loans facilitated by CARE International UK’s website lendwithcare.org, with the goal to provide loans to over 1000 women entrepreneurs throughout the developing world before 2014. As the loans are repaid, the company reinvests in their own business.
RubyMoon’s dedication is rooted in their belief that empowering women to gain an income through micro credit not only means more can be spent on nutrition, medicine, and housing to benefit their children and families, but that entrepreneurship can protect them from abuse by achieving a higher level of respect within their communities.
Working with micro finance for over twenty years, CARE, RubyMoon’s partner in this venture, currently has 131 micro finance projects in 31 countries that offer financial tools and training to those living in poverty, helping to increase their incomes for a more secure future.
