Throw Away Less and Givmo

Do you ever look around your home and think, “Man, I have way too much stuff. How did this happen?” My wife thinks I’m a hoarder but to me, I never know when I’ll need that extra rice cooker or all the unused candles collected from back when we were dating. Aside from throwing them out, working way too hard to sell them on eBay or Craigslist, or simply trucking them off for donation, there’s another option called Givmo.

Givmo is an online community for giving away your unused stuff to those who will love and appreciate them, by doing so, the items find a new life rather than sitting in a landfill, and everyone is left feeling amazing. The process is easy, take a picture of the item you want to give away and post it on the Givmo site – it’s free, and for each item given, $1 is donated to charity! When someone sees it listed and wants it, they agree to pay the shipping cost, and you mail it to its new home. Your old junk truly becomes someones new treasure.

If you’re looking for something, consider browsing through Givmo first, it’s like an online garage sale with items ranging from prom dresses, books, bowling balls, and hockey equipment to name a few. The best part is that you’re helping someone declutter while getting something you need, saving the planet by recycling, and it’s all free, minus shipping costs. Sounds like a win-win-win!

Doing some spring cleaning this weekend? Reconsider throwing the stuff away and remember Givmo! Items can be listed here.

Thank you Givmo for making our world wonderful.
